FAQ

Is the venue accessible for those with additional needs?
Wheelchair bookings can be made for performances in The Melba Spiegeltent. They are able to clear a space for patrons to stay in their chair and we are also happy to reserve a space next to this for any companions or friends attending the performance. As they need to pass this information on to our venue manager, please contact tel: 0396760300 and tell them the performance you are attending.
Please note that the permanent booths in the Spiegeltent require patrons to step up one step to the seating.
If you have any questions please contact Circus Oz on (03) 9676 0300 (Mon – Fri 10am – 6pm) and visit their page for more information HERE.

Where can I get my costume inspiration?
The Goblin Ball is open to everyone. At the heart of the event we always keep fun, inclusion and interaction at the front of mind. If you want to come as a character from another movie but aren’t sure if it will fit, commit to the costume and all will be awesome! Our product partners at Little Shop of Horrors are Professionals on The Goblin Ball so call them up and ask!

Will there be food provided?
This is a Goblin Ball Masquerade event so there is no catering. We suggest looking into our webpage for any restaurant for local suggestions. We do have secret Pizza at our boat parties so please be sure to eat before!

Will there be trinket trading at this event?
Yes, as with all of our Goblin Ball events there will be trinket trading with our creatures and also with our guests! For more info on this look here for our Trinket Trading guide.

ADDITIONAL FAQ

Q. Can I bring Glitter?
Only bring glitter that is in body paint form as any extra magic will create additional costs that may prevent the event from happening again.

Q. Dress Code? Can I have some ideas?
Get creative and create your own fantasy for the night, however the booths are small and so is the venue so keep this in mind while creating!

Q. Will I be expected to join in audience participation?
No. Our creatures are there to add atmosphere and no one will be put on the spot to interact in front of guests unless it is previously arranged.

Q. Do I have to dress up?
If you are stuck for an idea on costume and would like to attend for an unique night out, formal dress is suggested. For added mystery why not add a mask?

Q. Is Body Paint an acceptable costume?
Always! All Genders are welcome to wear body paint!

Q. Can I be bare foot?
Unfortunately no. Goblins tend to drop glasses and smash a few bottles when The Goblin Ball takes off. It's required you wear shoes for the occasion. This year we will be on a boat so flats are advised.

How to Get Involved!

Create Your own Character!
It’s quite exciting. We encourage people who wish to get the most of their night to create a character with a back story. Use your character and your ideas to create

What mystery can I solve on the night?
The mysterious Jaggies has returned to break the Enola Charm of the Ice Queen. Through clues and careful deduction this is a fantastic way for you to place wagers with your friends on who you think Jaggies real persona is, and maybe win a trinket or two. We have trading cards to collect and trinkets to trade but the Goblin Ball story Teller will be there with pages from Goblin Ball history to help you keep up to date. Use the clues and beat your friends! Place bets with new friends and call up the debts at the end of the night.

I want to represent a certain kingdom or fraction that exists in the Goblin Ball mythology. Would that work?
What an amazing way to enter the world of the Goblin Ball! We would love you to dress up as part of our previous kingdoms! See below for some amazing ideas!
  • The Water Realm: The Ice Kingdom
  • The Fire Realm: Ember Rule
  • The Earth Realm: Terra Bayou
  • The Ship of Souls: The Goblin Voyage
  • The Ringmaster Realm: Carnivalia

My character is attending The Goblin Voyage to complete their own quest. Can you work it into the story for the evening?
If you have your own personal quests why not see if a guest will help you? Bribing works wonderfully, but make sure it doesn't disrupt the the event. We have a few secrets on the night so why not ask around?

My Character really needs to see a main character!
Approach them! They will love it, and you can learn if there is something that needs to be done before you can talk.

ARMOUR! I must protect myself from dragons and rogues! Can I bring my own sword too?
All armour and weaponry must be LARP safe & must be sheathed at all times. The Goblin Ball is a place to match wits not swords. Those found duelling will be dealt with accordingly.
