Many rumors have been thrown around the internet this past week about the possibility of a Labyrinth sequel and we are here to break the bad news to those who want to see the project come to life. Firstly The Goblin Ball has a small connection to the Jim Henson studios dating back to The Ice Kingdom. However we were asked to keep quiet and unfortunately, there are still requests for the kind of confidentiality. We can however reveal the following details. The Dark Crystal sequel is in production. In the Ice Kingdom marketplace we had the honor of having character molds for order through one of our vendors (although they were masquerading as something else at the time). These molds were character designs from The Dark Crystal sequel but unfortunately have not been made available for order since. Just like the rest of you we would be hesitant in welcoming a Labyrinth sequel and wonder how the transition from Real FX to CGI would change the story telling. The charm of Labyrinth is in its raw realness, real sets and lack of green screen (save for the black velvet scene of Chilly Down). Puppets replaced by CGI? Not something we would like to see. There is something charming about On good Authority The Goblin Ball can confirm that there is no Labyrinth Sequel in the works however we can drool over this fan made video.
