Welcome to Ebonvale
Ebonvale is a land of ancient gods, strange traditions and five distinct regions, each shaped by the people who call them home. From the marshes of Moorvynd to the shores of Brineshore and the grasslands of Heatherin, every region has its own character, stories and secrets waiting to be discovered.
Brineshore
Brineshore is a bustling port city built around a natural harbour, where ships, merchants and travellers arrive from across Ebonvale and beyond. Its people have learned that strangers bring opportunity, and few places in Ebonvale are more welcoming to those who arrive on their shores. Here, trade is more than a way of life, it is the lifeblood of the city.
ISTHARRA
Goddess of Hospitality
Istharra embodies the welcome Brineshore extends to all who arrive upon its shores.
Once trapped in Hyclaci, she brings the Ancients to Brineshore.
THE PEOPLE
Worldly, sociable and accustomed to newcomers, the people of Brineshore understand that every visitor might bring something valuable to the city.
BELIEFS
In Brineshore, a stranger is never simply a stranger. Every guest is a potential friend, ally or trading partner, and every exchange carries the possibility of something more. They believe prosperity comes from welcoming what — and who — arrives at their shores.
Moorvynd
Moorvynd is a marsh kingdom where life is shaped by the water, the mud and the changing landscape. Its people have learned that survival rarely comes from fighting against change, but from adapting to it. Patience is simply a way of life.
LUCIAN
God of Transformation
Lucian governs the ever-changing nature of Moorvynd, where nothing remains fixed and survival depends upon the ability to adapt.
He represents transformation, renewal and the acceptance of change.
THE PEOPLE
The people of Moorvynd are resilient and patient, shaped by a land where survival depends on adapting to change.
Their clothing is practical and layered, suited to the damp marshes, with weathered fabrics, sturdy boots and earthy tones. They are observant and resourceful, accustomed to working with nature rather than trying to conquer it.
BELIEFS
Moorvynd believes that survival comes through patience and adaptation.
Moorvynd’s magic is rooted in transformation by reshaping, adapting and changing what already exists.
Nothing remains unchanged forever, and those who endure are those who learn to bend with the world rather than fight against it will survive the marshes.
Falkenmark
Falkenmark is the domain of the Fae, a land where the boundaries between the natural and the otherworldly are not always clear. Its people live alongside ancient magic and traditions that reach far beyond the mortal world. Here, courage begins in the absence of fear, and the willingness to face what lies beyond the familiar.
BRAM
God of Courage
Bram represents the courage to face the unknown, protect what matters and venture beyond the familiar.
THE PEOPLE
The people of Falkenmark live alongside the Fae and are deeply connected to the enchanted world around them.
Their clothing is elegant and otherworldly, blending natural materials, rich textures and fantastical details.
BELIEFS
The people of Falkenmark believe that courage is not the absence of fear, but the willingness to step into the unknown despite it.
Falkenmark's magic is ancient and unpredictable, woven through the natural world and the realm of the Fae.
Nachtwald
Nachtwald is a land of highlands and deep forests, where darkness arrives early and the night holds its own mysteries. Its people are accustomed to living beneath wide skies and among ancient wilderness, where truth can be difficult to find and even harder to face.
In Nachtwald, truth is valued but not always welcome.
LINDEN
God of Truth
Linden is truth in all its forms, even the truths that are painful, inconvenient or better left hidden.
THE PEOPLE
The people of Nachtwald are accustomed to life after dark, with a culture shaped by the rhythms of the night.
Their clothing is practical and protective, layered for the highlands, with dark fabrics and details suited to life beneath the stars.
BELIEFS
The people of Nachtwald believe that truth has value, even when it is difficult to face. To know something is to have the power to understand it.
Nachtwald's magic is tied to truth and revelation, bringing hidden things into the light and exposing what has been concealed.
Their word is their sword.
Heatherin
Heatherin covers vast open grasslands, where the horizon stretches for miles and life moves with the seasons. Its people are unified with the rhythms of the land, valuing peace, community and the quiet strength that comes from living in harmony with one another.
Peace is not the absence of conflict, but it must be protected.
CAELAN
God of Peace
Caelan embodies peace, harmony and the belief that conflict can be resolved without violence.
THE PEOPLE
The people of Heatherin are warm, communal and deeply connected to the land.
Their clothing is practical but colourful, suited to life beneath the open sky, with natural fabrics, flowing layers and details inspired by the grasslands.
BELIEFS
The people of Heatherin believe that peace is something to be cultivated and protected. Harmony between people, community and land is central to their way of life.
Heatherin's magic is rooted in seasonal harmony, using the natural world to nurture, heal and restore balance.
Ice Kingdom
The Ice Kingdom is what remains of Heatherin, transformed from open grasslands into a frozen realm under the influence of the Ancient Ice God. Where peace once defined the land, ice and uncertainty now dominate.
The people of Heatherin are no longer living in the world they knew.
AMAK
The Ancient Ice God
Amak is a self appointed ancient power of vengance and nostalgia, whose influence has forced itself upon Heatherin and reshaped the peaceful grasslands into his own viscious Ice Kingdom.
THE PEOPLE
The people of Heatherin have been changed alongside their land, their former lives and traditions giving way to a harsher oppression beneath the ice rulers grasp.
Those who remain must now adapt to a world that no longer resembles the peaceful grasslands they once called home.
The fate of Cealan is unknown. Some believe he still walks among the people of Heatherin. Most believe he abandoned them.
BELIEFS
Heatherin’s old beliefs are fading. Fear and obedience have taken their place, along with the quiet acceptance of what the kingdom has become.
The people of the Ice Kingdom who believe in Amak and the permanence of ice are complaiant but safe.
Those who are resistant are terminated swiftly.
Those who speak of Caelan are tortured.
All magic belongs to the Ice God.
No trinket or tinkture goes unpunished.
